Canon has announced the next camera to join the rebel series. The Rebel T1i is expected to hit the market in May for about $800. This camera will be using a a Digic IV processor to take it's 15.2 megapixel photos. It has Full HD video capture at 1920 x 1080 resolution with HDMI output for HD viewing of stills and video. It can use live view on it's 3 inch Clear View LCD with anti-reflective and scratch-resistant coatings. The iso is from 100-3200 (ISO expansion: 6400, 12800). The canon rebel T1i also features a built in auto lighting optimizer.
Canon's Rebel series has always been just one step behind their XOD line. With the release of the Rebel T1i the rebel series may actually be ahead of some of Canon's more expensive cameras. The full HD video capture feature is what really puts the T1i ahead. One of the only complaints we've heard about the T1i's video is the lack of auto focus.
